This rotation set us to create a 10-15 sec composition that convey our concept by using After Effects. In the first 2 days I was working on mind-map and thinking what them should I do.
and here is my storyboard:
I sketched some elements I wanted to use in my work, such as egg (birth), rock, mountain, waves etc which looks quite easy to shape.

Concept and inspiration:
As the moving line looks like a snake, I made it the main character. I wanted to do a snake challenge, like the classic game snake path. But after I tried, I found it was quite difficult to achieve that, like to tell a story clearly and exaggerate the graphics changes at the same time. Or it needs too much time and I did not have.
In terms of mg animation, I don’t think I should show the story specifically but only drew some scenes of the way of graphics moving. So I made it more of a design than narrative.
And then I found some colour palette that match my concept:
Although during my working process I sometimes just picked a colour randomly, which leads to the disunity of my colour tone…
And here is the final result:
Reflections:
It went well actually, those functions I have tried all works indeed. Altho there were still problems, like the axes point always moved away and I did not notice, and after I adjusted the parameter of the layer, the item just did not move in the way I wanted.
For improvement, I think the snake looks too simple. Next time maybe I would add some pattern on it or make it in gradient colour.
And I’m still not familiar with camera, speed line and pen tool, need practice a lot…
and it was my first time to make mg animation, it’s kind of interesting tho ( if the software is not that easy to die) . Next time I would try different styles of mg animation, as this one I made was a bit childlike.
